Many homes have chest of draws, usually in the bedroom to hold clothes, underwear, socks and the like. Some come with draws that have fluted columns and panels on the sides are raised. The Amish people are known for their high quality chest of draws. They are always made from solid wood, not veneer or plastic.

There are five drawer chest draws. They have wood drawer glides, a rounded front, maybe bronze or brushed nickel hardware. They have a large top so you can put pictures or a lamp or maybe a plant on it. Many men use this type of chest of draws. They can put all the things that come out of their pockets on top of it.

There sometimes is what is called ribbon molding and curved fronts. The base of the chest draws is solid wood with maybe a pecan wood veneer on the front. Many have carved wood draws and the hardware can be of brass, copper or bronze.

A lingerie chest of draws is one for the girls. With seven draws, she can put in her whatnots, using a drawer for each kind of item. Though it can be used in any room in the house, mostly it is in the girl’s room. This chest of draws can be bought when the girl is small and she will most likely take it to college. They never seem to go out of style.

Boys need chest of draws too. Many come in four to eight draws. They have matching wood pulls and are usually made of solid pine. This type of chest of draws can come in different colors or can be painted at home.

Little boys and girls can have an extra one for nothing but their toys, games and books. Painted in fun colors, they can even put stickers on them to make them unique. The prices for chest of draws vary. Depending on what it is made of and how big they are play a large factor in that price.
